The photograph portrays the artist’s mother, transformed into a symbolic “moth” — a deeply personal metaphor for the night terrors Michaela experienced as a child and the comforting presence of her mother who always calmed her fears. The moth costume was handcrafted by Slovak artist Barbora “Baška” Slováková, who also assisted with makeup and hair styling during the shoot. The floral headpiece was created in Michaela’s own atelier Magaela Accessories, and the entire scene draws inspiration from Renaissance portraiture, blending classical aesthetics with deeply emotional storytelling.
